PHYLLIS RICKS

Phyllis Ricks

Ms. Ricks is a Del Rio native moving to Kerrville in 1980 as the Ricks Furniture Store manager. She is the second of three generations involved in the family furniture store business. As a pioneer of women in business, Phyllis has held numerous leadership roles in Kerrville. She was the president of the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce during its 75th anniversary. At the time, she was only the third woman to hold the prestigious position.

Phyllis has served as the president of the Board of Directors for Hill Country Crisis Council, which provides emergency service to victims of abuse and family violence, she is a member of the Rotary Club of Kerrville, a board member of First Christian Church, Kerr County Child Services, the Salvation Army KROC Center, Wells Fargo and K’Star.

Ricks was awarded the Small Business Person of Year award in 1990 and was the recipient of Citizen of the Year award in 2018.

Ms. Ricks has two adult children, John and Stephanie, and three grandchildren.
