Families and Literacy is a non-profit educational agency dedicated to improving the lives of Hill Country Adults through education.

We have classes in Literacy Instruction, GED preparation, English as a Second Language, Citizenship, Adult Basic Education, Parenting, and Tutoring.

How can you help?

Volunteer your time as a tutor or donate money to sponsor our programs.......

Register for Tutor Training!

Due to growing interest in the community for our services we have a need for more volunteer tutors in all subjects, but particularly:

Beginning Math

English

Writing

English as a Second Language

Don’t be afraid to help out! Our tutors are people just like you. Many are not teachers by trade they are just folks who saw a need and wanted to help out. Believe it or not, you do NOT have to know Spanish to teach an English as a Second Language course!! We will begin holding tutor-training classes in August. If you are interested in becoming a tutor please contact us at (830) 896-8787.
