Volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization and help deliver literacy services to those in need. With our small staff, we would not be able to accomplish our mission without you.

Opportunities exist in a variety of areas–based on an individual’s interests, abilities and schedule. Volunteering for literacy is a fantastic social interaction and when you volunteer at Families & Literacy, Inc. it’s rewarding to know that your efforts are literally changing lives for the better.

Volunteers are needed in a range of areas including:

  • Events (special events during the year)
  • Administrative Assistance (such as data entry, filing and covering the front desk)
  • Literacy Advocacy (spread the word about the literacy need in our area and what Families & Literacy, Inc. is doing to address it)
  • Substitute teachers
  • Tutors
  • To serve on the Board of Directors

All of our volunteer opportunities are very flexible and require regular time commitment. Volunteers can opt in as and when an opportunity of interest arises, and they have the time to be involved.
