Mr. Schwarz grew up in Kerrville, the son and grandson of educators and graduated from Tivy High School in 1980. Steve married his lovely wife, Therese and has been blessed with four wonderful children.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Angelo State University and his Masters of Education from Sul Ross State University. Mr. Schwarz taught and coached at Center Point High School (Texas, Class A) and at St. Mary’s Secondary Catholic School (Toronto, Ontario Canada).
The Schwarz family moved back to Kerrville in 1994 and started teaching at Tivy in 1995. Steve was an Assistant Principal at Tivy High School for three years and then was the Principal for five years. Currently, Mr. Schwarz is the Senior Director of Alternative Education for Kerrville Independent School District.
Mr. Schwarz is a member of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, Texas Association of Alternative Education and the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce-Education Committee Member.
