Thank you for your interest in Families & Literacy, Inc. We want to give you an update on our programs and an additional opportunity to support the work being done on behalf of our community.
Families & Literacy, Inc. has continued a 15 year history of helping adults become literate in order to improve their lives, their jobs and their citizenship. We offer not only Basic Adult Education, preparation for the GED (high school equivalency), English as a second language but also a variety of parenting skill programs.
We're proud that:
- Almost all of our adult students are currently working and trying to improve their job skills
- Families & Literacy is the ONLY GED testing site for Kerr County.
- Our services are customized to the needs of our student since each adult who comes to us for help is in a special situation.
- So far this year, we have served over 500 adults in these various programs.
- Most adults in our programs pay some level of fees for classes.
Families & Literacy receives no state or federal funds. Services are provided by our staff and volunteer tutors and are supported by foundations and donations from individuals like you.
