F&L offers classes in GED preparation, Citizenship preparation, Parenting, English as a Second Language, Personal Finance Literacy, and Adult Basic Education, as well as assisting with the Texas Education Agency's registration for the GED test.

Research demonstrates the direct correlation between education and economic growth, and between illiteracy and poverty. Skills of the local workforce are one of the attractions for industry or employers to locate in the Kerr County area. A literate population means less welfare and a more productive citizenry. Literate parents make better parents and their children have a better chance to break the cycle of poverty.

Cash donations from individuals, corporate/business donations, private foundation grants. F&L is not a government agency.
