JEFFREY L. WENDLING

In 1969, Mr. Wendling began a career in federal law enforcement that began with the US Marshal’s Service and ended in 2005 with his retirement from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).   At DEA, Mr. Wendling held positions of progressively greater responsibility, supervising and managing criminal investigation personnel both in domestic and foreign offices.

In 2005, Mr. Wendling continued his public safety career as a Division Commander at the Kerrville Police Department until his retirement in 2012. Mr. Wendling was then hired as the Chief of Police of Socorro, Texas, and later as the Chief Deputy of the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office in Victoria, Texas.   After retiring from VCSO, Mr. Wendling continued as a public safety program consultant for the Alamo Area Council of Government and presently, as a public safety communications consultant for the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.  

Mr. Wendling is a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a degree in criminal justice.   Additionally, Mr. Wendling is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Session 242; DEA Supervisors’ Institute; FBI Law Enforcement Executives Development Executive Institute and Command Institute; and graduated from Texas State University as a Certified Public Manager.

Mr. Wendling is a member of Rotary International, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and numerous professional organizations.

Mr. Wendling is married to Freya Halili Wendling and they have one son Michael who is an Information Technology Director for multi-national pharmaceutical company.
