BRENDA “B.K.” GAMBLE

bk-optB.K. Gamble has worked for The H. E. Butt Family Foundation since February 2010. She is currently working in Human Resources as the Training and Development Manager. Prior to this job, B.K. worked in San Antonio for USAA as a Project Manager and for Southwestern Bell as a Project Management Consultant.

B.K.’s career was focused in the Information Technology arena for over 35 years but she jumped on the bandwagon of Project Management fifteen years ago. She obtained her B. S. in Computer Science at the University of Central Oklahoma (Edmond, Oklahoma) and an MBA in Information Systems from the University of Dallas (Irving, Texas). She also holds the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).

Although B.K. grew up in Oklahoma, she got to Texas as quickly as she could. B.K. has lived in Kerrville for the past 14 years but has visited Kerrville annually since 1981. Prior to this move to the Hill Country, she lived in New Jersey for 12 years where she worked for AT&T and IBM. B.K. has also lived in Dallas, Texas where she met her husband, Fred. B.K.’s employment in Dallas included Celanese Chemical Company and AT&T.

B.K., Fred, and their son, Preston attend First Presbyterian Church here in Kerrville. B.K. is currently serving as an elder and chair of the Personnel committee. She has also served as a Deacon and a Stephen Minister.

B.K. has varied interests but considers herself to be a “life-long learner” and seeks opportunities to improve herself by learning new skills and serving others. B.K. has volunteered with Hill Country CASA and is a member of Leadership Kerr County Alumni and the PMI Alamo Chapter. B.K. is currently serving as Vice President of the Dietert Center Board of Directors. She is the immediate past President of Families & Literacy, Inc.’s board.
