Families & Literacy, Inc. is a nonprofit organization located in Kerrville, Texas, and serving the surrounding area with low-cost adult classes and tutoring in Adult Basic Education, English As A Second Language, GED, Parenting, and U.S. Citizenship.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Kerr, Bandera, Gillespie, Kendall, and Kimble Counties.

Families & Literacy Receives Peterson Foundation Grant

January 22, 2018

Kerrville –  Families & Literacy, Inc. is proud to announce the recept of another Hal & Charlie Peterson Foundation Grant. The grant, in the amount of $25,000, will be used for operating expenses associated with adult basic education and English as a second language classes during the 2017-18 school year.

“Longtime a supporter of Families & Literacy, the Hal & Charlie Peterson Foundation has supported our programs for nearly twenty years.” stated Executive Director Mindy Wendele.  “We are fortunate to have this community foundation as a partner to help hundreds of adults have a better life through education.”

Kerrville Host Lions Funds Families & Literacy, Inc.
October 18, 2017

Kerrville – Kerrville Host Lions Club President Ron Curry presents a check for $500.00 to Families & Literacy, Inc. Board President Jeff Wendling at a recent Lions Club meeting. “On behalf of the students at F&L, thank you for your donation.  We will use these funds to help with tuition costs and books.” explained Wendling.
Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organization with more than 1.4 million members in approximately 46,000 clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas around the world. The local club meets each Tuesday at noon at the Kroc Center.
